Welcome to

Durrington Community Church

Message from the Leadership Team

Updated - Wednesday 3 June 2020

As the current lockdown continues, Durrington Community Church's leadership team would like to reiterate that we are not meeting on Sunday mornings at the Village Hall.

This is in accordance with Government guidelines about mass meetings, as well as guidance from Rural Ministries.

This also applies to our extra regular events such as

Tea & Toast, Midweek Groups and Cheerful Cuppa,

which will remain closed until further notice.

We continue worship and fellowship by posting messages,

including video sermons, from the leadership team on our website and Facebook.

This is to help keep our fellowship together and supporting each other

and those in our community, during this difficult time

We have an archive of recent video sermons available here

Next week (7th June) is our Sharing and Communion service

If you have anything that you would like to share for the forthcoming service video,

please email Daniel at durringtoncommunitychurch@outlook.com

or via the Church's WhatsApp Group.

We ask that you continue to do your best to stay safe, and be sensible.

If you have any of the symptoms of the Corona Virus

(persistent cough, high fever or breathing difficulties)

please follow NHS advice and self-isolate.

Stay Safe and God Bless

An Announcement from the Church Leadership

DCC Programme for 2020

Andy Lund, our lead pastor writes:

"Our programme in this year is going to be very exciting.
On Sundays we shall be looking at building the church, as we move ever nearer to moving our centre of operations.  We all know that the church isn’t a building and we shall have a series of Sunday messages on building our fellowship together.

"Midweeks are going to be great too. On Tuesdays and Wednesdays, we shall be doing a course written by our friend Roger Morgan called
Beautiful Lives. This course will run for at least 8 weeks and is a help to us in sharing our faith with friends and neighbours.  This too is vital at this point of our development as God’s people locally."

Please do consider joining a midweek group, even if you haven’t before.

Our midweek groups meet on

Tuesdays at 10am and 7.30pm

Wednesdays at 7.30pm.

Choose a time to suit yourself but do come.

There is a course booklet which is only £3.50.  We have a number so please ask for one and pay your contribution to Pam.  If this is a problem at the moment just let us know and we shall arrange for you to have a copy.

Groups start on 7th and 8th January.

Don’t miss out.

Members of our church provide a breakfast club for parents and carers on Thursday mornings

Go to the "What's On" page for more details

Some of our congregation are part of an Open the Book team

that goes into the village infant and junior schools on a monthly basis

The New Building

We have been praying consistently as to whether acquiring the former Durrington Free Church building was the Lord’s will for us. The leadership has now been informed that we have been gifted this building.

Praise God!

Our overseer Brian Meardon has said:

"Praise our Lord for His hand upon all that is taking place.

Jesus said that He only did that which He saw His Father doing.

We pray that the Lord will show you how this sign will develop and flourish."

We must emphasise that there is a long way to go but we need to praise God for this answer to prayer.

We have made no moves yet but we want to begin to ask for an input from you for your initial thoughts about how best to use this facility.

We need to read the relevant paper work first but it would be useful to know what others are thinking.  We need prayerful thoughts.

We hope to meet as a leadership soon and discuss the whole development, but clearly it is something that everybody can contribute thoughts to. So please pray and do give us your thoughts.

Street Pastors are operating in the Amesbury area now and need volunteers and prayer support.

Please contact GWEN LESLIE ON 0778 5548 576 TO EXPRESS INTEREST.
